Founded in 1989, the Office of James Burnett is a landscape architecture firm with offices in Houston, Texas and Solana Beach, California. With a focus on collaborating with committed clients and innovative design teams, our work includes a broad range of projects, including urban design, corporate and university campuses, health and wellness centers, and resorts. Currently, we have projects in Beijing, Chicago, Santa Clara, La Jolla, Virginia Beach, Dallas and Houston.

In our work, we subscribe to the notion that a design should stem from understanding the clients’ goals and visions. Also driving our work is the belief that landscapes and architecture work together as a dialogue, each influencing and reinforcing the other to create a unified composition. Above all, we focus on creating gardens that transform one’s perspective of the landscape through designs that evoke emotional responses and awaken the senses.
