CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: La Jolla Commons to be Largest Net-Zero Project to Date
OJB is happy to share some images of the progress on The La Jolla Commons, with the news that the La Jolla Commons is slated to be the largest Net-Zero project in the nation when completed, expected to provide more energy that it uses. Hines announced in a newsletter at the beginning of this year describing how "the new building will achieve carbon neutrality on an annual basis through a combination of high-performance building design, directed biogas and on-site fuel cells."
Construction began in April 2012 and completion is scheduled for mid-2014.
The gardens are beginning to emerge as trees are installed and the water feature takes shape.
