Jim Burnett and Chip Trageser to speak at The Cultural Landscape Foundation Conference
James D. Burnett, President of OJB, and Chip Trageser, Principal at OJB, will be speaking Friday, March 11th at The Cultural Landscape Foundation Conference in Houston. The session, Leading with Landscape II: The Houston Transformation, features three moderated panel discussions and will discuss how the nation's 4th largest city is reshaping its identity through landscape architecture. The first two panels will examine completed projects and ongoing projects, respectively, and will assess the influences of culture, history, and ecology in the evolving Houston cityscape. The final panel will provide a comprehensive appraisal of the projects and issues presented and will consider their implications for city-shaping.
James and Chip will speak on the second panel, "Looking Forward". This panel will discuss the challenges Houston will face in the future through the lens of the landscape with particular attention and analysis given to every scale form the site to the mega-region. They will discuss the role public/private partnerships play in urban park stewardship in the 21st century, specifically at Levy Park, an OJB project located in the Upper Kirby District of Houston.
