Klyde Warren Park featured in LAM
The February issue of Landscape Architecture Magazine was devoted to exploring the physiological, psychological, and socioeconomic divides caused by freeways and how many cities in the nation are proposing to "heal the gash." The issue included a lead-in article qualifying the problem and pointing to the success stories behind existing deck parks, including Klyde Warren Park, which spurred economic growth in the surrounding area by availing invaluable urban real estate. Further in the issue, reporter Jonathan Lerner delves into the inspiration behind Klyde Warren Park, the remarkable engineering required to sustain a 5.2-acre open space, and the inevitable urban oasis it has become for the people of Dallas. The 14-page spread examines the thoughtful design and programming that has reconnected neighborhoods and essentially turned the Park into the heart of the City.
