News LeBauer City Park Breaks Ground in Greensboro
Ground was broken today on the LeBauer City Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. The $10M park, donated by the estate of Carolyn and Maurice LeBauer for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, will sit at the heart of historical downtown Greensboro between the Central Library, the Cultural Arts Center and Historical Museum. At the heart of the park sits the children's garden, where custom play features will wind around several central play berms. At the north side of the park will sit the event lawn, over which will hang a 75 by 150 foot lighted net installation by the celebrated sculptor Janet Echelman.
The highly programmed park will also include a central market square, performance stage and pavilion, dog park, botanical gardens, cafe terraces, food truck parking and plaza, creek and several water features, and a reading room and games plaza.
