In a celebration of the 60% design milestone and in front of an audience of more than 1000 people brought together by The Downtown Council, the sustainable deck park in Kansas City got its official naming on April 11, 2025. The Roy Blunt Luminary Park (formerly the South Loop Project) is a sustainable urban park over I-670 linking adjacent communities, and a collaborative effort led by the City of Kansas Citythe Downtown Council, and Port KC.

The 5.5-acre park will transform a portion of Interstate 670, which bisects the downtown core, into a sustainable and people-focused destination. Featured areas of the park include accessible play spaces, public entertainment forums, multimodal transportation options and more.
