Aggie Park

Aggie Park is a 20-acre beautification project at the heart of Texas A&M’s main campus. The project will create an upgraded open green space perfectly suited for large scale events like the well known Aggie Ring Day, as well as game-day tailgates. The redevelopment will bring the Aggie network and guests together for celebration, relaxation and inspiration.

The landscape will tie together current elements of the site with new features to provide a cohesive park environment, offering something for all visitors to enjoy. A permanent memorialization of Distinguished Alumni will be set in place to recognize the college’s past, while new improvements will embrace the future and help enable the continued unique blend of Aggie values to thrive.

Aggie Park will feature new additions such as an outdoor amphitheater, event lawn, new events facility and terraced lakes to enhance open space entertainment. The lakes will create a much-needed breeze in the heat of Texas summers in addition to acting as a flood prevention system during high amounts of rainfall defying the sloped scenery.

This transformed space will bring long-awaited amenities to enhance tailgating, studying, entertainment and relaxation for students and visitors. Movable outdoor furniture, Wi-Fi and new pathways connect the guests of Aggie Park, the various recreational spaces and support events of multiple sizes.

A series of student, faculty, staff and former student meetings were conducted to inform the design and functionality of the space. The site broke ground in February 2020 and construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2022.
