American Airlines Robert L. Crandall Campus

The American Airlines Robert L. Crandall Campus is a 258-acre campus located in Fort Worth, Texas. The new campus coalesces an existing set of training, museum and administrative buildings and reorders their uses, together with 1,850,000 SF of new building construction, plus structured parking. Together, the new campus brings together nearly 12,000 people to create one connected campus for the entire American Airlines team.

The goal is to enhance employees’ ability to connect and collaborate, with multiple new office buildings, a new hospitality complex, and parking structures, all connected by integrated networks of amenity, work and collaboration spaces.

Various outdoor spaces sit within a native Texas landscape, including approximately 58-acres of woodlands and 8.3 miles of trails, which encourage employees to walk between buildings, spend time in the fresh air and collaborate with co-workers from other departments. Over 100+ bicycles are scattered throughout the campus to encourage pedestrian traffic. These exterior amenities return the central open space to people, as well as removes all vehicular traffic. Future mobilty improvements also include a shuttle system.

OJB designed 81-acres of amenity space, which includes work enabled courtyards, active recreation areas, woodland trail systems and regional multi-use connection paths. The project is slated to attain LEED Gold certification in the Campus.
