Milwaukee Bucks Entertainment Block

Fronting the new Milwaukee Bucks arena and located in the heart of the Arena District, the Entertainment Block is a hub for activity in downtown Milwaukee, connecting the arena and Old World 3rd Street. It opens the Arena District to the City, activates the adjacent streetscapes, and acts as a catalyst for the development, evolution and revitalization of downtown Milwaukee.

The Entertainment Block features various open spaces, as well as dining, entertainment and retail activations. Located between Milwaukee’s historic breweries, the project’s design is a modern interpretation of the City’s industrial past, incorporating exposed steel, aluminum, wood, and brick. A linear Beer Garden connects Old World 3rd Street to the Central Plaza. This space features brick pavers referencing the historic character of Old Milwaukee and is highlighted with festoon lighting and a signature canopy. A small performance stage, wood-decked bleacher seating and an artificial lawn offer ping-pong tables, corn-hole, picnic tables and fire pits during cooler months.

The 43,000-SF Central Plaza features activities and events year-round, with intricate paving patterns that define and direct flow throughout the programmed spaces. A tree-lined promenade along the arena showcases public art, gardens, specialty lighting, a signature water feature, seating and event lawns. A combination of native and adaptive trees, shrubs, grasses, and ground covers are planted along the streetscape and plaza.
