About Cynthia Dehlavi, PLA, LEED AP BD+C
Cynthia joined the OJB team with an initiative to continuously advance design through research and sustainable design strategies. As the founder of OJB*lab seven years ago, she is passionate about the performance of our landscapes and post-occupancy of a project. She helps direct efforts to give projects metrics, experiment with visualization methodology and push environmental standards in design. In terms of research practice, she enjoys exploring passion topics in the firm that have an impact on human and environmental health.
Cynthia’s inspiration comes from the way our environment affects our body, mind and experience of life. She delights in the endless potential of outdoor spaces and their charms at every scale. She is fascinated by how the culture around being outside can shift the way we value the outdoors. Cynthia studied Architecture at the University of Houston and Landscape Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her notable built projects include Rice Sid Rich, TCU Creative Commons, Woodchase Park and soon Montrose Collective. Cynthia has taught university courses at both MIT and UH. She loves public speaking and sharing big ideas with an audience; and dinner parties are her favorite experience to create.
