Prior to joining OJB in 2024, Phoenix took on full-time employment in the public sector, working on green-schoolyard and public parks projects, as well as part-time employment within private practice. He is particularly interested in fostering long-term landscape care, measuring landscape performance, and advocating for green stormwater infrastructure. In his free time, you may find Phoenix partaking in outdoor activities in the Houston area or reading his large collection of books.

Phoenix was a lifelong resident of Indiana prior to relocating to Houston. He was introduced to the landscape industry through his family business where he gained critical experience with construction, design, and maintenance. The formative experiences of working in the industry from a young age inspired Phoenix to subsequentially study Landscape Architecture at Purdue University- which blended his passion for the design and environmental sciences together.
