Yaoze joined OJB’s Boston office in 2026. With training in architecture and urban design, as well as a long-standing interest in computational design, he brings a cross-scale perspective to landscape practice. His work is driven by an interest in public space, ecological systems, urban infrastructure, and the ways digital workflows can support clearer and more informed design decisions.

Before joining OJB, Yaoze worked as a Computational Urban Designer, where he applied computational methods to parametric site modeling, landscape analysis, design consulting, and client-facing visualization for urban and landscape projects. He also previously worked for two years as an Architectural Designer in China, contributing to schematic design, master planning, façade studies, and construction documentation across residential, cultural, and public projects.

He holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tunghai University. Outside of work, Yaoze enjoys exploring cities and hosts a podcast where he shares his perspectives on different urban cultures and places. He is also passionate about sports, especially basketball, and collects NBA trading cards and jerseys.
