About Yingjie Luo

Yingjie joined OJB in 2021 after earning a Master’s of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington. She started her landscape design journey inspired by her experience in agricultural research in China and her interest in ecological design. She aspires to connect landscape design principles with urban agriculture to help balance the relationships between urban development, human activities, and environmental protection. During her studies, Yingjie participated in a range of projects- including stormwater management of the Northern I-5 Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle, urban agriculture at UW Farm, and ecological design of Heron Meadow on Vashon Island. Several years of academic and industrial experience at the intersection of agriculture and design allow her to facilitate projects from a different perspective.
