KLYDE WARREN PARK IN THE NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE

The recent design issue of The New York Times Magazine features an article entitled “Uncommon Grounds,” which explores the various methods modern cities’ are leveraging to transform decaying infrastructure into vibrant open spaces that connect and revitalize surrounding neighborhoods.

Klyde Warren Park is cited for its ability to restore connections between neighborhoods previously bisected by the 8-lane Woodall Rogers Freeway. By lidding, or capping, the freeway, the once obtrusive structure gave way to Dallas’ premier urban oasis and public open space.
