Project 180 Featured in This Month’s Issue of Landscape Architecture Magazine

Jereck Boss, Managing Principal in OJB’s Houston office, recently sat down with Timothy Schuler of Landscape Architecture Magazine to discuss the firm’s transformation of downtown Oklahoma City. Through the redesign of the streetscapes, OJB has significantly improved the mobility, safety and public realm of the Central Business District.

The streetscape improvements encompass more than two hundred twenty-two acres, including sixty-three intersections and seventeen street alignments. Nearly eight miles of streets were updated with new intersections, pavement, site amenities, continuous street trees and abundant on-street parking to support Downtown retail. A key component of Project 180 was the renovation of Myriad Botanical Gardens, which transformed 15-acres of underutilized open space into the vibrant center of downtown public life.

This revitalization has created a walkable and inviting downtown, generating positive effects on Oklahoma City’s economic development and shaping the city for the future.
