The Wall Street Journal Interviews Jim Burnett On The Rising Interest of Deck Parks

As the demand for living, working and experiencing walkable urban centers has risen, there’s been a growing interest in the development of deck parks across the country. Jim Burnett spoke with the Wall Street Journal about the success at Klyde Warren Park and the impact the park has had on the surrounding real estate. Klyde Warren Park, a 5.2-acre deck park, has reinvigorated downtown Dallas’s urban life and has set an example for the dozens of proposed deck parks across the nation.

For example, in order to entice and retain young talent, Atlanta’s city leaders are working to create a more attractive urban core with park land decked over the city’s highways. The Wall Street Journal features three major plans in Atlanta: The Stitch in Downtown Atlanta, the 14th Street Midtown park project and a third proposed park covering portions of Georgia 400 in Buckhead.
