Ying Chen earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Southwest University, Master of Urban Planning and Design from Nanjing Forestry University, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from University of Georgia. She is also a licensed Landscape Architect in the state of Texas. Ying joined the Houston office in 2021 after nearly four years of experience at an urban planning firm. As a Project Designer, she brings a unique skillset in open space design, streetscape design, and corridor planning to the firm. She is passionate about urban renewal projects and enjoys creating outdoor spaces that enhance human environments. With each of her projects, Ying strives to integrate ecological thinking and green infrastructure systems into her designs. Ying’s experience designing spaces in complex urban settings enabled key contributions to a retail development in New York City. In her free time, she enjoys reading, Pilates, traveling, and cooking.
