Yingchen was welcomed to the OJB Boston team in 2023 after a successful internship the previous summer. She earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. With a background in both architecture and landscape architecture, Yingchen is a Designer who possesses a keen interest in harmoniously blending plants and natural materials with structures and infrastructure systems. She believes a good outdoor space is one that is both accessible and environmentally sustainable. Growing up in Beijing, Yingchen developed a passion for painting, sketching and 3D modeling from regularly visiting her mother’s art studio. Her strong visual arts background complements her impressive technical skillset, making her a valuable team member in early project development. Before she returned to OJB, Yingchen worked as an instructor and explored her early design pedagogy in the 2023 GSD Design Discovery summer program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cat and trying different spicy foods.
