Toyota’s New North America Campus Opens

Toyota officially opened its new North American headquarters in Texas. Last week, OJB celebrated the grand opening with a luncheon at the new Plano campus. The project design team was recognized and thanked by Toyota for the site’s design, which was inspired by Toyota’s vision of bringing thousands of employees together onto one campus, helping reinforce the company philosophy of “One Toyota”.

The 100-acre project focused on creating spaces that inspire and encourage collaboration. Various office buildings cover 2 million square feet and also include amenities like 12 dining spots, fitness facility, conference center, doctors’ offices and much more. OJB designed a wide variety of amenity-rich landscaped spaces that encourages indoor/outdoor connections and supports many types of events.

Toyota and the design team are committed to sustainability, as they aim to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Solar panels have been installed, a rainwater harvesting system has been implemented for irrigation and OJB’s landscaping reflects the native habitat, using vegetation native to the North Texas region.
