Senior Associate

OJB Landscape Architecture is a leading landscape architectural design firm with offices in Houston, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, and San Diego. OJB is currently accepting applications from Senior Associate level candidates. Experience should include demonstrated success in project design, development, with construction documentation experience. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Works independently on the preparation, coordination and completion of design and construction document packages 
  • Development of creative technical solutions 
  • Coordination of design and engineering sub-consultants 
  • Development of project specifications 
  • Leading in project meetings and demonstrating competent understanding of assigned projects 
  • Prepares and directs preparation of client presentations, plans, design studies, drawings, and construction documents with support 
  • Prepares and reviews site analysis and conducts technical research as directed 
  • Identifying and escalating project and client issues in a timely manner 
  • Assists in training new team members 
  • Manages all aspects and phases of work within a project. Ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within scope and budget
  • Responsible for 1-2 special projects (technology, office management, file management, etc. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BA in Landscape Architecture or Architecture 
  • MA in Landscape Architecture or Architecture is a plus  
  • A minimum of 8 years Professional Experience in the Field of Landscape Architecture or Architecture 
  • Licensed or seeking Licensure 
  • Employment history in a fast-paced, design-driven studio environment 
  • Experience working with project teams to produce documents for complex projects 
  • An attention to detail and problem-solving ability 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in construction and horticultural knowledge base 
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and/or Rhino, Land F/X, Revit, Lumion and/or D5, and MS Office 
  • Proficiency in drawing conventions, file management, and time reporting 
  • Familiarity with VectorWorks and Grasshopper is a plus
